How it works
Step 1:
Click the "book a session" button to choose a time that works for you for a phone consultation, or fill out a contact form.
Step 2:
After you book a call, we will have our 15-20 minute consultation so you can get a sense of who I am, how I work, and if this is a good fit. If we are a good fit to work together, we will schedule our initial intake session!
Step 3:
Begin attending your weekly individual sessions. Feel heard, explore, create, and begin healing in sustainable ways.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
My practice was founded in colonially known Charlotte, North Carolina, however, since2021, Mixed Healing Collective has moved to Kumeyaay Land, AKA San Diego County, CA! We are still mostly operating remotely (telehealth/phone) due to accessibility/access; however, nature-based sessions are available to only long-term and full-fee clients. New peer and nature-based support groups are coming SOON for those interested in building community in person.
What are your rates?
Full session fees are $150/per session for therapy and consultation sessions.
I also utilize a sliding scale as a tool for economic justice which is available to all clients. Please visit the pricing page to learn more.
What days do you work?
Monday-Thursdays 10am-5pm. Limited Fridays.
How do I pay for sessions?
Therapy clients are set up for payment thru Simple Practice and other clients through Grow Therapy and Stripe. I accept credit/debit cards, Venmo, Paypal, or Cash App. We typically discuss payment in our first session or phone consultation.
Do you take insurance?
Yes I am currently in network with Kaiser Norcal, Centene California Medi-Cal, United/Optum, . I am paneled with insurances you can view on Psychology Today, or HERE on Grow. I am transitioning out of Grow therapy and no longer taking insurance in 2027.
Some choose not to use insurance because it allows more agency and privacy. Self pay clients have more freedom to choose a therapist and do not need to request permission/authorization or terminate services once insurance coverage runs out. Government agencies can also request your mental health care records, a loophole in HIPAA, at any time under the protection of the National Security and Patriot Act.
Should I do a in-person, phone, or video session?
Options for sessions are offered depending on client’s comfort/preference. Want to get away from the screen and focus on verbal conversation? Phone may be your choice. Prefer to see my face? Find it helpful to have visual cues when engaged in conversation? Video sessions. Video sessions are offered through Simple Practice and Grow. In-person availability only in San Diego County, inquire for info!
